RE: Rear view Cameras

I bought a rear view camera from rvcams last year. I have the 56-CHNV that cost me $349. I do not know how I lived without it. The sense of safety driving now is great, knowing I can see what is behind me. The system has the 5.6 inch color monitor/ audio and infrared.

RE: Any recent TV buying experience?

Just a little over a week ago I bought a Ford F450. I had to fight for the price. MSRP was $54,365, Ford rebates $6,500, dealer discount about $5,000 and they gave me $7,000 for my 2001 Silverado. I sold the truck to the dealer because I was concerned about selling it on my own, obviously personal choice.
I checked the price of my truck at KBB and got detailed pricing on the F450 from Edmunds.
Like said above shop for what you want and try to get a price that makes you comfortable. Don't be afraid to walk out and go to another dealer.

RE: Best tire guage to check dually

I just went to tire-pressure-gauge and ordered the guage for my truck. First site I went to wanted $99. As noted above this was a great price. Thank you for your help.

RE: Best tire guage to check dually

I looked at the psiclops web site and like the idea of balancing tire pressure of both wheels at the same time. A little pricey at $99 but looks good.

Best tire guage to check dually

What have you found to be the best/easiest tire gauge to check tires on a dually. Mainly the inside rear tires.
On my F450 the outside valve lines up with the inside valve but it is still a bear to get a good reading.
F450 door says 80psi in front and 75psi in rear....it came from the dealer last week with 90psi in all!

RE: Aux. fuel tank

This coming Monday I am getting a transfer flow combo fuel/tool box installed along with a new hitch (Reese 20k) in my new truck. The transfer flow has a 40 gallon tank which is plenty for me combined with the 38 gallons in the F450. I saw the combo at the dealer here and really liked the tool box aspect. This is their new model, all black and should fit just below the rails.

Just over the line from Charlotte, NC into South Carolina I was at a station that had diesel for $4.16....lowest price around here.

RE: How do you flip axels?

I will wait till I get the hitch installed in my new truck to see exactly how I match up.
I could not remember what needed to be done to raise the fiver.

How do you flip axels?

I did a search but cannot find the answer to flipping axels. I have a new F450, I don't have the hitch yet but I am guessing I will have to raise my Wildcat. Within 11 months I am getting a Carri-Lite but want to safely pull the old fiver till I get the new one.

RE: Purchased F450 today, should I get extended warranty?

Bottom line I purchased the extended warranty from Ford, to make a long story short I ended up paying $1,495 that included the tire hazard and immediate car rental.
Based on the original quote here in Charlotte I saved $250 and got more coverage.
Picked up the truck and it is in the driveway.....wow it is big!!

RE: Purchased F450 today, should I get extended warranty?

Well folks I have already settled on the price of the truck and that has been paid for/partly financed. I hear you talking about oil changes...I believe the oil changes on the F450 are at 6,000 or 10,000 miles, per their warranty, depending on how you drive. The powertrain aspect I will look into.
By the way negotiating for the truck was hard, true that trucks are moving slow but so are other vehicles....dealers are having a hard time right now and are cutting back on staff as a result. Bottom line is they cannot sell vehicles at a loss...somehow they are caught....tough one obviously.
For your info the dealer knocked off $4,890 + $6,500 in rebates from a $54,365MSRP. Additionally I traded my Silverado so personally I was satisfied with my final cost.

Purchased F450 today, should I get extended warranty?

Well it sure took me a while but I purchased a Ford F450 today. Tomorrow they spray in a liner and I pick it up on Friday. I'll post pics this weekend.
The dealer offered a bumper to bumper warranty for 75,000 miles/7 years. The regular bumper to bumper warranty is 36,000 miles/3 years.
Do you think it is worth $1,745 for the additional 39,000 miles and the additional 4 years?
Normally I would pass on these type things but this is again bumper to bumper. This is also my first diesel.

RE: Tool that dumps water off the slide awnings?????

I have the airwedge. Right now I have only one slide out. I keep the airwedge inflated and throw it on top of the bed in the fiver when traveling or parked at home. I use a step stool to get high enough to slide it under the awning.
